COMMISSIONS
Generally I work
from photographs. If you have a photo
you would like turned into a work of art, please email it to me at mybirds2c@mchsi.com.
Also, let me know about your ideas
and expectations for the commission.
Who or what is it for? What
medium and what size do you have in mind?
I will reply with a
no-obligation quote. If you are in
the Des Moines area, we may also meet in person to further discuss your desires
for the commission. The cost is
determined by size and number of subjects.
If you decide to
commission my artwork, a nonrefundable deposit of one-third of the quote is
required. Payment may be made by
PayPal or cash.
I will then create the drawing or painting, emailing to you (if you wish) photographs
of the piece in stages until completion.
Balance is due upon completion. Upon receipt of payment, I will ship via
UPS or will meet with you.
PHOTOS
If you have a photograph you would like me to use, it must be in sharp
focus, in color, and a true likeness of the subject. Photos must be free of copyright (i.e., not taken at a studio
and not another person’s photos). Good
quality reference photos will allow me to give you the best realistic piece of
artwork.
If more then one subject is involved, they should be in a photograph
together (if at all possible but not absolute), for size comparison. There
is an additional charge for more then one subject.
Depending on your location, I can arrange to take the photographs for you for a
small additional fee.
TIME
Most commissions will be completed in 2 months from initial contact but may
be finished sooner depending on my workload at the time of ordering. Please allow plenty of time for me to do
the piece especially if it is a holiday gift. I will try to work with
you if there is a deadline you want to meet.
LIMITED EDITION
PRINTS
By restricting the number of reproductions I have made , each print will retains its
value with the prospect of appreciating with time. All of my limited
edition prints have an edition size of 200 , unless I decide a large edition, and are on
archival paper of the highest quality.
I hand-sign and number each print myself.
